Road traffic collision in Coventry

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision involving a car and a van in Coventry.


West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of Broad Lane and Wildcroft Lane in the Whoberley area of the city shortly before 11.10am today.


Two rapid response vehicles, one driven by a paramedic area support officer, attended along with two ambulance crews.

 

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The driver of the van, a man believed to be in his forties had no injuries, but was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for assessment.

 

“The driver of the car, a woman believed to be in her thirties, was freed from her vehicle with the help of the fire service. She had chest injuries. She was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar and was taken to the same hospital.”
